Khaptad Baba
The hermit Khaptad Baba meditated on the plateau for about fifty years until his death in 1996. His ashram remains a place of quiet pilgrimage, and the plateau is considered sacred to Hindus of the far west.

Camping and simple lodges in a remote park. Pack warm layers for cold plateau nights and rain protection.

Cultural & regional context
Sacred Grasslands
The plateau's patans (grassland meadows) host more than 200 species of flowering plants, many used in traditional medicine. During the Ganga Dashahara festival in summer, pilgrims gather at Khaptad Daha.
Doti Heritage
Doti was once an independent kingdom. Its Deuda song-and-dance tradition, performed in circles at festivals, is a living expression of far-western identity.
